Job summary

Kevin Edward Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to oversee structural steel projects from award to completion. You will manage schedules, budgets and resources while coordinating with engineering, fabrication shops, erection crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality, safety and client satisfaction across multiple simultaneous projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction project management experience for PM level positions.
• 5+ years for Senior PM level positions.
• Strong experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection.
• Experience managing commercial structural steel projects.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, costs, change orders and subcontractors.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural steel projects from contract award through engineering, fabrication, delivery, erection and completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans and resources.
• Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication shops, erection crews, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Review structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Manage steel fabrication, delivery sequencing, field erection, cranes and material handling.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, progress, change orders and overall performance.
• Conduct regular fabrication shop and jobsite visits.
• Manage quality control and ensure work meets project specifications and standards.
• Act as key point of contact for General Contractors, clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Identify project risks and resolve issues before they impact cost or schedule.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication across project teams.
• For senior PMs: balance resources, take ownership of delivery and profitability, mentor junior PMs.

The Opportunity

Depending on experience, you will take responsibility for managing structural steel projects from contract award through engineering, fabrication, delivery, erection and completion.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing structural steel fabrication and erection projects from start to finish
• Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, procurement plans and resources
• Coordinating with engineering, detailing, fabrication shops, erection crews, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
• Reviewing structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Managing steel fabrication, delivery sequencing, field erection, cranes and material handling

• Providing leadership and direction to Junior Project Managers
• Reviewing schedules, cost reports, change orders and client correspondence
• Mentoring and developing less-experienced project management professionals

Ideal Background

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• 3+ years of construction project management experience for Project Manager-level positions

• Strong experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection
