Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager – Steel Erection for two locations.

You will manage erection and fabrication projects from inception through closeout, ensuring profitability, client satisfaction, safety, and budget adherence. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, coordinating logistics, setting up projects in core PM software, and collaborating with field operations and clients to maintain schedules and costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Working understanding of structural steel fabrication or erection processes.
• Four-year degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (other degrees considered with relevant industry experience).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple structural steel erection and fabrication projects concurrently.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate daily with field operations teams.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Track and update projects in project management software.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with clients and operations leadership.
• Prepare productivity reports and financial projections.
• Support project billing and cost administration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and trade partners.

1. Role Overview

• Job Title: Project Manager – Steel Erection (2 Positions Available across 2 Locations)
• Key Objectives:
• Manage assigned steel erection and fabrication projects from inception through closeout.
• Deliver projects profitably while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
• Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget parameters.
• Immediate Priorities:
• Review project drawings and technical specifications.
• Coordinate equipment logistics and material requirements.
• Set up projects within core project management software.
• Collaborate closely with field operations and clients to maintain project schedules.
• Monitor ongoing project costs and field productivity.

2. Role Responsibilities

• Day-to-Day Tasks:
• Manage multiple structural steel erection and fabrication projects concurrently.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate daily with field operations teams.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Track and update projects in project management software.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with clients and operations leadership.
• Prepare productivity reports and financial projections.
• Support project billing and cost administration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and trade partners.
• Report to Senior Operations/Division Leadership.
• Manage projects independently while leading project teams.
• Collaborate with: Field Operations, Clients, Administrative Staff, Vendors, and Subcontractors.

3. Candidate Requirements

• Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Working understanding of structural steel fabrication or erection processes.
• Four-year degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (other degrees considered with relevant industry experience).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience using On-Screen Takeoff (OST).
• Alternative Profiles Considered ("Stepper Uppers"):
• Project Managers with 3+ years in commercial construction looking to specialize in steel.
• Candidates from General Contractor (GC) or specialty trade subcontractor backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 / year (Salaried, Full-Time)
