The Opportunity
A well-established structural steel company is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team.
This is a hands-on role overseeing structural steel erection projects from award through completion. You’ll work closely with clients, fabricators, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and delivered to a high standard.
The company operates across the commercial and industrial sectors and offers a collaborative environment where experienced Project Managers have genuine autonomy and visibility across their projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage structural steel erection projects from award through completion.
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and other project resources.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Coordinate closely with clients, fabricators, superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, costs, milestones, and quality.
- Manage RFIs, RFQs, change orders, and client-requested modifications.
- Identify project risks and develop solutions before they impact schedule or budget.
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects meet contractual, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 10-15+ years of construction and/or structural steel erection experience.
- Strong understanding of structural steel erection project management.
- Proven experience managing projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of project scope, scheduling, budgets, contracts, and change management.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and project management/WBS processes.
- Comfortable working across both office and field environments.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- PMP certification.
- Experience with Scrum, Agile, or similar project management methodologies.
- Experience managing larger or complex commercial and industrial steel projects.

During your first 6-12 months, you’ll be expected to:
- Deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Maintain strong control over project costs and resources.
- Keep clients and internal teams informed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Effectively manage subcontractors, vendors, and field operations.
- Improve consistency around change orders, reporting, and project processes.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Become a trusted point of contact for the projects you manage.
