Job summary

FPC of Savannah is seeking an experienced Project Manager to independently manage major capital projects, including facility expansions and equipment installations, from concept through commissioning. You will lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with external firms, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of engineering and capital project management experience in chemical or related processes, with a strong track record of delivering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering and capital project management experience in chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, or similar environments.
• Experience independently managing multimillion-dollar capital projects ($2M+) from concept through commissioning.
• Strong background in facility expansions, process equipment installations, and industrial construction.
• Experience managing engineering contractors, equipment vendors, project budgets, and schedules.
• Strong technical understanding of industrial processing equipment, plant utilities, and manufacturing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects ranging from $2M to $20M+ from concept through engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, contractor coordination, and resource allocation.
• Oversee manufacturing facility expansions, chemical processing equipment installations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, outside engineering firms, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Provide hands‑on technical support throughout project design and execution.
• Review engineering specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical design packages.
• Manage contractor selection, bid evaluations, procurement, and construction activities.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, quality, and risks while implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate project progress to senior leadership.
