Job summary

The Axel Group, LLC seeks an experienced Project Manager for a client team in the Sarasota, FL area. You will oversee major civil infrastructure projects including FDOT roadway construction, underground utilities, stormwater, drainage, and municipal work.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of FDOT roadway construction, municipal infrastructure, transportation, and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT specifications and public-sector construction requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Roadway, utilities, stormwater/drainage, and municipal construction experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil infrastructure projects from planning and bidding through completion.
• Oversee FDOT roadway, signalization, stormwater, drainage, water, and utility piping projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, and execution.
• Coordinate with FDOT, municipalities, counties, subcontractors, and internal teams while ensuring compliance with all FDOT, municipal, county, safety, and quality requirements.
• Track project progress, budgets, schedules, and milestones.
• Supervise and mentor internal staff as part of a long-term leadership plan.

Compensation:

• $120,000-150,000 base + performance bonus
