Job summary

PG&E is seeking a Distribution Project Manager to lead electric distribution infrastructure projects across the Northern CA/Bay Area service territory. This role is responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, contractor coordination, and stakeholder communication from initiation through closeout.

The ideal candidate has utility project management experience and is comfortable working across engineering, construction, and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting utility, electric distribution, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communications.
  • Working knowledge of SAP; CMDB and Unifier experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to collaborate with contractors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple electric distribution projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Track financials, invoices, and change orders using SAP, CMDB, and Unifier.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors (GCs), engineering teams, construction crews, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks, resolve issues, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and project teams.
  • Travel to project sites and field locations as needed to support project delivery.

Job description

Location: Bay Area - Antioch, east bay, Diablo (weekly onsite depending on project status)

  • 1x week onsite at office – San Ramon, CA

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Possible extension or conversion)

PR: $75/hr - $85/hr

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting utility, electric distribution, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communications.
  • Working knowledge of SAP; experience with CMDB and Unifier preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, field personnel, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the service territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous utility industry experience.
  • Familiarity with electric distribution systems, including overhead and underground projects.
  • Experience supporting utility construction, system hardening, or capacity-driven programs.
