Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading large-scale IT initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to work onsite daily in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex application modernization projects.
  • Drive Agile project delivery across multiple workstreams, including business, development, testing, infrastructure, integration, and deployment teams.
  • Manage projects through the full SDLC, from requirements and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, release planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, and executive-level status reviews.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, leadership, technical teams, vendors, and third-party partners.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and roadblocks.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, resource allocations, and milestone delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO governance, project controls, and reporting standards.
  • Drive organizational change management activities and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Support modernization efforts involving legacy system replacement, cloud migration, data conversion, and application integration initiatives.
  • Prepare executive briefings, steering committee presentations, and project health reporting.

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support an enterprise modernization initiative. This highly visible program is focused on transforming systems through the migration of legacy applications to a modern, cloud-based architecture while improving operational efficiency, customer experience, and system scalability.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing large-scale application modernization programs, leading cross-functional Agile delivery teams, and driving projects through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Experience supporting mainframe modernization, code conversion, application migration, or cloud transformation efforts is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
