Job description

Our client is a Long Island architectural stone company working at the luxury end of the market. They fabricate and install cut-to-size natural stone — roughly 80% of it luxury retail, the balance high-end commercial and residential work. Projects run nationwide and the standard is exacting: brand standards, landlord and mall coordination, compressed schedules and off-hours work. Everything is produced in their own shop and installed by their own teams, which means the technical problems land in-house rather than getting passed to somebody else.

The role

As Project Manager you carry three to four jobs at a time, ranging from $500,000 to $3–4 million each. This is a technically demanding seat. You are expected to bring real technical command to the table — shop drawings, field verification, means and methods — and to be the person who resolves the problem rather than routes it. Process and administration matter, but you have Assistant Project Managers to push that work.

What you will do
  • Own three to four concurrent projects end to end, from award through closeout.
  • Drive the shop drawing process — coordinate with drafting, review for constructability, and manage the submittal and approval cycle with architects and general contractors.
  • Own field verification. Get to site, take or validate the dimensions, and make sure what the shop cuts is what the field needs.
  • Coordinate fabrication and installation schedules against the general contractor's programme, including compressed and off-hours work.
  • Manage brand standards, landlord and mall requirements, and the approvals that come with them.
  • Handle procurement, change orders, RFIs, budget tracking and billing on your projects.
  • Travel to project sites nationwide, roughly one to two times a month.
What we are looking for
  • Technical command is the priority. This is not a seat for a manager who had the technical side handled for them by a subcontractor.
  • Working, functional AutoCAD. You do not need to be a drafter, but you need to open a drawing and work in it.
  • A background in a fabrication and installation trade — stone, millwork, ornamental metal, glazing or similar. Our client is open to all of these and in several respects prefers them.
  • A track record carrying multiple jobs at once in the $500K to $4M range.
  • Experience with retail or rollout work is weighted heavily. Brand standards and mall coordination are a different discipline from ground-up or residential.
  • Comfort with nationwide travel one to two times a month.
Compensation

$115,000 – $140,000, salaried and full-time. Our client will go above this range for the right person.

Benefits
  • Medical after 90 days, with three plan tiers to choose from. The company contributes $975 per month toward the cost of the plan.
  • Vision and dental offered.
  • Supplemental benefit offerings — accident, hospital, critical illness and cancer plans.
  • Disability and Paid Family Leave.
  • 401(k) with a 3% non-elective safe harbor contribution — automatic enrollment after one year and 1,000 hours of service. The 3% goes in whether or not you defer anything yourself. Pre-tax and Roth options.
  • Profit sharing, at the company's discretion.
  • Annual performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Paid sick time and paid vacation time.
  • Seven company-paid holidays.
  • Company cell phone, company credit card, and a laptop or Surface tablet.
  • Company-paid travel expenses.

Compensation:
$120,000-$165,000 per year
