Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Project Manager to support a major greenfield processing facility in Louisiana, onsite from pre-construction through startup. You will serve as the owner's representative and coordinate across engineering, procurement and construction teams with direct exposure to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and 8+ years in capital projects within food manufacturing or industrial settings; PMP or PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of project management/construction/capital project leadership experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred.
• Strong contractor management, procurement, bid packages, and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as owner's representative throughout planning, procurement and construction.
• Support contractor selection, bid package development, vendor management and procurement.
• Coordinate with engineering firms, CM partners, contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, scope and execution to ensure delivery.
• Support pre-construction planning, contractor engagement and execution strategy.
• Manage contractor relationships and resolve construction, scheduling and execution challenges.
• Oversee construction progress and liaise between ownership and project teams.
• Support commissioning, startup and closeout activities.

Company Summary:

A privately owned food manufacturing company is seeking a Project Manager to support the development of a major greenfield processing facility in Louisiana. Backed by an experienced ownership group and industry leaders within the vegetable oil and food processing sector, the organization is entering a critical growth phase as engineering, procurement, and construction activities ramp up on a $200MM+ capital project.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, entrepreneurial team with direct exposure to executive leadership and ownership. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping deliver a flagship manufacturing facility from pre-construction planning through construction execution and startup.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

• Acting as the owner's representative throughout project planning, procurement, and construction activities
• Supporting contractor selection, bid package development, vendor management, and procurement initiatives
• Coordinating with engineering firms, construction management partners, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Monitoring project schedules, budgets, scope, and execution activities to ensure successful project delivery
• Supporting pre-construction planning, contractor engagement, and project execution strategy
• Managing contractor relationships and helping resolve construction, scheduling, and execution challenges
• Overseeing construction progress and serving as a key liaison between ownership and project teams
• Supporting commissioning, startup, and project closeout activities

The Project Manager should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred
• 8+ years of project management, construction management, or capital project leadership experience
• Experience managing large capital projects within food manufacturing, ingredients, agribusiness, specialty chemicals, consumer products, or industrial manufacturing environments
• Strong background in contractor management, procurement, bid packages, change management, and project execution
• Experience leading greenfield and/or brownfield industrial facility projects
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, operations, and leadership groups
• Experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities
• PMP and/or PE certifications are considered a plus
