Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering projects for clients in the refining, petrochemical, chemical, energy, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, client communication, and team coordination. The successful candidate will manage projects from initial scope development and proposal preparation through engineering execution, procurement support, and project closeout. This role requires strong technical judgment, commercial awareness, organizational discipline, and the ability to lead engineers, designers, project-controlspersonnel, vendors, and subcontractors in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and projects.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from initial planning through final completion.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverable registers.
- Coordinate the work of process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and project-services personnel.
- Establish project priorities, assign responsibilities, and ensure the project team understands scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Manage engineering work performed during feasibility studies, front-end engineering, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Develop proposals, labor-hour estimates, fee estimates, execution strategies, and project schedules.
- Monitor project performance, including earned progress, actual costs, committed costs, forecasts, and remaining work.
- Review project financial performance and take corrective action when cost or schedule variances are identified.
- Manage project changes, including scope clarification, change-order development, client approval, and incorporation into project forecasts.
- Lead internal and client project meetings and communicate decisions, action items, risks, and required follow-up.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, technical issues, schedule impacts, budget performance, and required decisions.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans for technical, commercial, schedule, staffing, procurement, and construction-related issues.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with procurement, vendors, fabricators, contractors, and construction teams.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with client requirements, applicable codes, company standards, and quality-control procedures.
- Lead design reviews, constructability reviews, model reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
- Facilitate timely resolution of technical issues, design conflicts, incomplete information, and client comments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Support construction by coordinating responses to requests for information, field changes, submittals, design clarifications, and site-related technical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant engineering experience, including at least three years of project-management or project-leadership experience.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects for industrial, refining, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or manufacturing facilities is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and client communication.
- Experience with engineering consulting, EPC, EPCM, or owner’s engineering project execution.
- Strong understanding of engineering project lifecycles, including feasibility, front-end engineering, detailed design, procurement, and construction.
- Experience developing proposals, labor-hour estimates, execution plans, project schedules, and cost forecasts.
- Working knowledge of project controls, including progress measurement, cost reporting, forecasting, earned-value concepts, and change management.
- Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate multiple engineering disciplines and manage technical interfaces.
- Strong understanding of industrial construction practices, constructability, procurement, and field execution.
Ideal Background
- Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is preferred.
- Experience: This position requires 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

- Move periodically across office settings, client venues, and active project or site locations.

- Lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
