Job summary

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience managing projects from approximately $500K to $30M.
  • Strong scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration skills.
  • Experience with Procore, MS Project, or Primavera.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Manage underground utility installation, including water, sewer, and drainage.
  • Lead concrete, earthwork, and site development scopes on large infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk plans.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Manager, you will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Gregory Construction’s high standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage heavy civil construction projects from start to finish
  • Oversee underground utility installation, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and duct banks
  • Lead concrete, earthwork, and site development scopes on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk management plans
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients
  • Manage contracts, change orders, billing, cost reporting, and project documentation
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to internal leadership and clients
  • Promote a safety-first culture while maintaining OSHA compliance and quality standards
  • Build trusted client relationships through proactive and professional communication
  • Mentor project engineers and support the growth of project teams

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Strong background in one or more of the following:
    • Underground utilities
    • Earthwork
    • Concrete construction
    • Civil infrastructure or site development
  • Experience managing projects ranging from approximately $500K to $30M
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the Midwest to support active projects
  • A leadership style grounded in accountability, teamwork, and respect
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure projects
