Job summary

Gregory Construction is seeking a Safety Technician to support heavy civil and mission-critical projects across multiple regions. This field-based role requires frequent travel and hands-on leadership on active job sites.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30 certification, and a strong knowledge of trenching, fall protection, and THA principles. Expect travel across regions with on-site safety coaching and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil or mission-critical environments.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work on-site for extended durations.
  • Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, fall protection, and construction safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) across assigned projects.
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits.
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and task hazard analysis (THA) sessions.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including trenching, excavation, and fall protection.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to maintain safe operations.
  • Mentor junior safety personnel and support field training efforts.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting.
  • Travel frequently between job sites and support projects across multiple regions.

Location: Project-Based | Extensive Travel Required

Gregory Construction is seeking a Safety Technician to support heavy civil and mission-critical projects across multiple regions. This is a field-based, travel-intensive role requiring consistent movement between active job sites. Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their time in the field, supporting projects wherever they are located.

This position is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in dynamic environments, is comfortable working across multiple locations, and is confident leading safety efforts directly in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) across assigned projects
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil or mission-critical environments

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • CPR/First Aid preferred
  • Strong knowledge of excavation, trenching, fall protection, and construction safety practices
  • Ability to communicate clearly, enforce standards, and lead safety discussions
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work on-site for extended durations

Certifications (Required)

  • Must hold at least one of the following: CHST, GSP, or CSP

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional certifications or degree in safety, construction, or related field preferred
