What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities
Relationship Building and Partnership Engagement

  • Establish, build, and maintain a portfolio of strategic relationships with organizations that promote health and/or learning (schools, districts, OST, community-based organizations, health systems and government agencies) to advance evidence-based policies and practices that improve whole child health.

  • Identify and engage key decision makers and advocates among priority school districts and organizations to champion Healthier Generation initiatives, tools and resources, driving collaborative approach to achieving project outcomes and objectives.

  • Serve as a convener at the local, regional and/or national level to accelerate collaboration and advocacy among school districts and/or community partners.

Project Management and Implementation

  • Contribute to design and implementation of programmatic strategies utilizing the socioecological model to address health equity at individual, interpersonal, organizational and community levels.

  • Facilitate professional learning experiences, consultation, and technical assistance to school districts, community partners and communities of learning on HG tools, resources and best practices.

  • Conduct activities that support continuous improvement (e.g. support in building teams, data collection and assessment, data analysis and goal setting, action planning, and measuring impact of project goals).

  • Report project progress and results through formal and informal reporting procedures, including contributing to grant reports, providing project updates, and tracking progress using various technology systems, such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Knowi.

Stewardship

  • Cultivate, write, and promote success stories, best practices, exemplars, and lessons learned to highlight school and community impact, support knowledge management and advance funding opportunities.

  • Promote other HG priorities and org-wide initiatives as assigned (i.e. America’s Healthiest School Awards).

  • Advance HG’s Culture of Philanthropy by serving as an ambassador for the organization and fund development, fostering relationships that support community needs and impact aligned with organizational priorities, and providing funder stewardship.

  • Support local,regional and national strategies, thought partnership, and assist in the development of project concepts.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and experience

  • 3 years of experience working in schools, public health, out-of-school time, or other youth environments.

  • Partnership cultivation, convening, and engagement experience at the local, regional, and state level.

Other Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilitating meetings, trainings, or collaborative sessions with diverse audiences

  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and engage partners, fostering meaningful and sustainable relationships

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively

  • Highly motivated self-starter who works well independently and takes initiative to drive results

  • Must be comfortable promoting vaccine-related initiatives in alignment with Healthier Generation’s public health mission

  • Must reside within a 2-hour drive of Fayette and/or Pulaski Counties.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10–30% as needed

At Healthier Generation, each position is aligned with a salary grade determined by market data. For this position, the targeted salary is $69,800.

This position is funded by a two-year grant. Continuation beyond is contingent upon funding.
