Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment represents a leading engineering consultancy recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead Water Resources projects in the Houston, TX area. You will oversee planning, design and delivery across stormwater, drainage and flood risk efforts, coordinating with municipal, county and regional clients.

The role emphasizes hydrology and hydraulics expertise, project leadership, and mentorship of engineers while supporting client development and project

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering discipline.
  • Texas PE license or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
  • 8+ years’ experience in Water Resources / Drainage engineering.
  • Strong hydrology and hydraulics background.
  • Experience delivering stormwater, drainage, floodplain and flood mitigation projects.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS; additional hydraulic modelling beneficial.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Experience working with municipal, county or regional authorities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, design and delivery of complex Water Resources projects

  • Deliver drainage studies, detention systems, channels, storm sewer networks and floodplain improvement projects
  • Oversee H&H modelling and preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules and engineering deliverables
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout design and construction
  • Work directly with municipal, county and regional clients across the Houston area
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to Project Engineers and junior staff
  • Support proposals, client development and pursuit of new Water Resources projects
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, risk and delivery milestones

Job description

I’m representing a leading engineering consultancy that’s looking to expand their Water Resources team with an experienced Project Manager in Houston, TX. This position will take a lead role in the design and delivery of stormwater, drainage and flood risk projects across the Greater Houston region, working closely with municipal, county and infrastructure clients.

Job Specifications:
  • Manage the planning, design and delivery of complex Water Resources projects
  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater, drainage and flood mitigation projects
  • Deliver drainage studies, detention systems, channels, storm sewer networks and floodplain improvement projects
  • Oversee H&H modelling and preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules and engineering deliverables

Key Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering discipline
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • 8+ years’ experience within Water Resources / Drainage engineering
  • Strong hydrology and hydraulics background
  • Experience delivering stormwater, drainage, floodplain and flood mitigation projects
  • Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS; additional hydraulic modelling experience beneficial
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Experience working with municipal, county or regional authorities preferred
