Project Manager Location: Austin, TXMy client, a nationally recognized civil engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Project Manager to join their growing Water Resources team in Austin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project manager who enjoys leading projects, managing client relationships, overseeing project delivery, and mentoring engineering teams while working on impactful water resources and water infrastructure projects across Texas.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water resources engineering, but the primary focus of this role is successful project delivery, financial management, team leadership, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage water resources and water infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, invoicing, and overall project performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, agencies, and internal teams throughout project execution.
- Prepare and review scopes of work, contracts, project reports, and change orders.
- Monitor project financials, resource allocation, and risk management activities.
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client meetings, and networking.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to the continued growth of the Austin office.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- PE license in Texas, or ability to obtain.
- 6+ years of experience within water resources, stormwater, drainage, flood control, or water infrastructure engineering.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, teams, and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of project delivery and project management best practices.
- Experience working with municipal, county, state, or federal clients.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
