To advance this growth, we are seeking a senior‑level Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) professional to join their Houston office. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Our client is looking for a seasoned engineer with deep technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic systems, strong leadership instincts, and a passion for solving complex water‑related challenges. This position will play a central role in shaping the firm's Gulf Coast portfolio while contributing to high‑visibility projects across the country.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Directing water resources projects from initial planning through final delivery, ensuring technical rigor, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
Providing mentorship and oversight to developing engineers, helping build a strong, collaborative, and technically capable local team.
Executing and reviewing advanced modelling work using HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS (1D/2D) for flood risk assessments, stormwater systems, and infrastructure‑related studies.
Validating technical documentation, including modelling outputs, engineering analyses, design packages, and written reports.
Representing technical findings to clients, community groups, and regulatory agencies in a clear and compelling manner.
Supporting market growth, including proposal development, opportunity tracking, and strengthening client relationships in the Houston area.
Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies to support permitting, design integration, and project execution.
Embedding safety principles into all project activities and team operations.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related accredited field.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum of 10 years in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
Demonstrated experience leading projects and guiding technical teams.
Expert‑level proficiency with HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS (1D/2D).
Experience with GIS, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar modelling/design tools is advantageous.
Strong understanding of stormwater systems, floodplain management, watershed planning, and related infrastructure.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or client meetings.
