  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and customer requirements; strong communication with customers.

We design, build, and service innovative, heavy-duty equipment for customers across the energy industry. With in-house engineering, fabrication, assembly, testing, and field service capabilities, EnQuest delivers high-quality solutions that help power today's operations while supporting the evolving energy landscape.

Project Manager is responsible for managing engineered equipment projects from order intake through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and commissioning. This position serves as the primary customer interface and works closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Fabrication, Assembly, Sales, and Field Service to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer and contractual requirements.

Projects may include natural gas reciprocating engine generator packages, gas turbine generator packages, switchgear, controls, transformers, and other integrated power generation equipment serving oilfield, industrial, distributed energy, and emerging data center applications.

The ideal candidate has experience managing engineered-to-order equipment projects in heavy equipment, oil & gas equipment, industrial packaging, or similar engineered manufacturing environments.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables from order intake through final delivery and closeout.
  • Manage multiple engineered-equipment projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Assembly, Testing, Logistics, and Field Service activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate production schedules and project priorities with Operations to support on-time delivery.
  • Monitor critical-path activities and long-lead equipment and develop recovery plans when schedule risks are identified.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and other customer acceptance activities as required.
  • Ensure project execution complies with contractual requirements, customer specifications, applicable industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, action items, and project records.
Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
  • Lead internal and customer project status meetings and communicate schedule, technical, commercial, and delivery updates.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, drawing revisions, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and key suppliers regarding equipment requirements, delivery schedules, and project priorities.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations to identify and resolve constraints affecting project execution.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and proactively address concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budget, costs, gross margin, invoicing milestones, change orders, and forecasted cost at completion.
  • Identify scope changes and coordinate the development, communication, and negotiation of customer change orders.
  • Ensure project milestones and documentation support timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Identify and communicate project risks that could impact cost, schedule, margin, or customer commitments.
  • Support resolution of commercial issues and outstanding customer requirements.
  • Identify potential add-on opportunities arising from active projects and communicate opportunities to Sales.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify project risks early and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Escalate significant schedule, cost, technical, or customer risks to leadership as appropriate.
  • Support Sales during proposal and project handoff activities by identifying execution risks, reviewing scope requirements, and providing project execution input.
  • Participate in project kickoff, design reviews, production readiness reviews, and project closeout activities.
  • Capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to project management processes, manufacturing workflows, and operational procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Project Management, engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • 3-5+ years of project management experience in engineered equipment manufacturing, power generation, oil & gas equipment, industrial packaging, EPC, or a related industry.
  • Experience coordinating multiple phases of engineered projects, such as Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Testing, Logistics, Commissioning, or Field Service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, priorities, risks, and customer requirements.
  • Experience monitoring project financial performance, including budgets, costs, margins, forecasting, and change orders.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, equipment data sheets, and customer requirements.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project scheduling tools.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, supplier locations, manufacturing facilities, and field locations as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience managing power generation or packaged equipment projects involving natural gas engines, generator packages, gas turbines, switchgear, transformers, controls, or related equipment.
  • Familiarity with power generation OEMs such as CAT, Jenbacher, Waukesha, Cummins, MTU, Solar Turbines, or similar manufacturers.
  • Experience with engineered-to-order or configure-to-order manufacturing.
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, startup, or field installation activities.
  • Exposure to distributed generation, microgrids, data center power infrastructure, or mission-critical power applications.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central experience preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor.
  • Regular interaction with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Assembly, Testing, and other production areas.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, and field locations may be required.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE while working in manufacturing and field environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk throughout manufacturing and field facilities.
  • Ability to use standard computers and office equipment.
  • Ability to comply with site-specific safety and PPE requirements.
