Job summary

Edison Smart in Houston is seeking a Critical Facilities Project Manager to lead data center projects across North America. This senior role requires deep understanding of data center environments, building automation, and proven leadership of engineering teams.

You will drive project delivery, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to meet customer requirements while supporting sales with proposals and contract changes.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industry experience in building automation, controls, critical facilities or data centers.
  • Experience managing engineers, technicians and subcontractors.
  • Strong project management and leadership experience.
  • Direct experience working in data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of BAS/BMS and building automation integration.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working in live data center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction and vision to Critical Facilities project teams.
  • Lead the successful delivery of data center projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to customer requirements.
  • Manage and develop teams of engineers and technicians across multiple projects and locations.
  • Develop and maintain labour plans, resource forecasts and project priorities.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting and monthly billing.
  • Support sales teams with RFP responses, proposals, contract changes and new business opportunities.
  • Work directly with customers to develop long-term project strategies and priorities.
  • Provide design, strategy and execution guidance based on customer requirements.
  • Evaluate building control performance at a complete system and campus level.
  • Provide technical and project leadership within live data center environments.

Critical Facilities Project Manager – Data Centers


Houston Baed- flexibility on travel required


Up to $125,000 + bonus


A leading organisation within the mission-critical and data center automation sector is seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Project Manager to lead teams of engineers and technicians delivering complex data center projects across North America.


This is a senior project leadership position requiring a strong understanding of data center environments, building automation and controls, combined with proven experience managing technical teams, customers, subcontractors and project delivery.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide leadership, direction and vision to Critical Facilities project teams.

  • Lead the successful delivery of data center projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to customer requirements.

  • Manage and develop teams of engineers and technicians across multiple projects and locations.

  • Develop and maintain labour plans, resource forecasts and project priorities.

The ideal candidate will have:



  • 6+ years of industry experience within building automation, controls, critical facilities, data centers or a related field.

  • Proven experience managing engineers, technicians and subcontractors.

  • Strong project management and leadership experience.

  • Direct experience working within data center or mission-critical environments.

  • Strong knowledge of BAS/BMS, DDC controls and building automation integration/programming.

  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within critical facilities.

  • Experience working in live data center environments.

  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.

  • Engineering degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
