Job summary

Electria in Houston is seeking a Project Manager to own projects end to end from contract award to delivery. You’ll lead a matrix team of engineers, suppliers and specialists, managing the commercials as well as the schedule, mainly office-based with site and client visits.

The role requires at least 2 years of PM experience on electrical or automation systems (contracts over $1M), and experience in renewables or related sectors. A bachelor’s degree is required; travel about 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project management experience on electrical or automation systems (contracts > $1M).
• Experience in renewables, oil & gas, power generation, mining, metals, material handling, construction or paper.
• Technical, hands-on background such as field commissioning or time on site.
• Strong commercial skills including negotiating with clients and suppliers.
• Good financial judgement when managing budgets and margins.
• Willingness to travel around 25% of the time.

• Act as the main client contact, resolving issues and escalating where needed.
• Ensure contractual commitments are met, and manage variations and change orders.

THREE POSITIONS AVAILIBLE: Project Manager

Location: Houston, Texas, USA (hybrid)

This is a permanent, full-time role in Houston, with a base salary of $130,000-$150,000 plus a bonus of up to 5%.

Electria is a project and field services company supporting companies delivering large-scale energy projects across North America. We are searching for a Project Manager to join a global manufacturer of power equipment, owning utility-scale power projects worth $2-5M.

About the Client

Our client is a global manufacturer of power conversion and drive equipment, used across renewables, energy storage and heavy industry throughout the Americas. It is a mid-sized business within a larger international group, with a regional base in Houston for its energy team. The team is growing, with several Project Manager openings now and more planned.

The Role

You’ll own projects end to end, from contract award to delivery, as the client’s single point of contact. You’ll lead a matrix team of engineers, suppliers and specialists from the wider group, and manage the commercials as well as the schedule.

A dedicated field service team handles most on-site work, so you’ll be mainly office-based, with site and client visits when needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of project management experience on electrical or automation systems, including contracts over $1M
• Experience in renewables, oil & gas, power generation, mining, metals, material handling, construction or paper
• Technical, hands-on background, such as field commissioning or time spent on site
• Strong commercial skills, including negotiating with clients and suppliers
• Good financial judgement when managing budgets and margins
• Confidence working directly with clients and leading teams
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Willingness to travel around 25% of the time, sometimes at short notice

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of project management on $1M+ contracts
• Experience leading matrix teams
• Working knowledge of Oracle, Oracle BI tools or CRM systems
• PMP certification (helpful, but not required)
