Job summary

nVent is seeking a Project Manager with strong experience in industrial manufacturing and engineering to drive projects from kickoff to close. You’ll coordinate with customers and internal departments, manage schedules, and control costs while ensuring compliance with contract terms.

The role requires communication skills, familiarity with ERP systems (JDE/Oracle/SAP), and a proactive approach to risk and issue resolution in a global environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, or at least 5 years in industrial manufacturing/engineering.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Excel, Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software, and ERP systems (JDE/Oracle/SAP).
  • Experience working with customers on long-term projects and interpreting complex specifications.

Job description

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with the Contract/PO and specifications.
  • Establish and manage project schedules with customers and within nVent to meet deadlines.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders, acquiring necessary approvals before initiation.
  • Analyze project revenue, cost, and profitability, including material and labor costs.
  • Update achievement billing reports and ensure accurate invoices are sent promptly.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, acting as a liaison between multiple departments.
  • Review customer specifications, project quotes, and purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Lead internal and external project kickoff meetings, build reviews, and status updates.
  • Identify and communicate issues and risks early, driving resolutions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate customer visits, ensuring smooth logistics for inspections, testing, and meetings.
  • Promote nVent with existing customers for potential additional sales opportunities!
  • Adhere to nVent safety and quality standards to ensure both nVent and customer requirements are met.
YOU HAVE:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, or at least 5 years' experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering, construction, or other related industry fields.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Excel, Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software), and ERP systems such as JDE, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Experience working with customers on long‑term projects.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems and the ability to interpret and construct according to various specifications.
  • Strong time management and complex problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven negotiation abilities and capacity to manage several projects at once.
  • The skill to interact efficiently with diverse groups across a global commercial context.
  • A proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies and industry standards.
