Job summary

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience managing engineered-to-order or OEM projects.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $500K and $5M.
  • Strong scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and change control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, PM, or related field; equivalent experience.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to travel 15–30%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple custom equipment projects from handoff to acceptance.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, milestones, deliverables.
  • Coordinate engineering, controls, purchasing, vendors, assembly, testing, shipping, and installation.
  • Serve as primary customer contact for execution, schedules, approvals, deliverables.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, labor, vendor costs, and margins.
  • Identify risks and changes and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate status, risks, decisions, and actions.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping and installation.
  • Complete project closeout with customer acceptance and documentation.

Job description

Godfrey & Wing is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple custom industrial equipment projects valued from $500,000 to $5 million. This role will manage projects from order handoff through installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance while coordinating Engineering, Controls, Purchasing, vendors, assembly, testing, logistics, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing engineered-to-order (ETO) or custom OEM equipment projects and is skilled at driving schedules, managing risk, controlling costs, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple custom equipment projects from order handoff through customer acceptance.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and priorities.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Controls, Purchasing, vendors, assembly, testing, shipping, and installation activities.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for project execution, schedules, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, labor, vendor costs, billing milestones, and overall project margin.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and scope changes and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and action items.
  • Coordinate domestic and international equipment shipping and installation requirements.
  • Complete project closeout, including customer acceptance, documentation, financial review, and lessons learned.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience managing engineered-to-order, custom equipment, or OEM projects.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $500K and $5M preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and change control.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical/controls, fabrication, assembly, testing, and field installation.
  • Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and customer communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • PMP certification preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to travel 15–30%, including occasional international travel.
