Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, governance, execution, and delivery of complex marketing programs.
  • Establish and maintain PMO best practices, project management standards, processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Manage program timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Partner closely with marketing, creative, digital, analytics, product, and business teams to align priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing project management team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor project performance and provide leadership visibility through dashboards, status reporting, and executive-level communications.
  • Champion operational excellence by continuously evaluating processes and implementing efficiencies that improve speed, quality, and scalability.

PMO Manager, Marketing Operations

Summary

We are seeking a strategic, dynamic, and highly collaborative PMO Manager to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of complex marketing programs and initiatives. This role combines strong program and project management expertise with a passion for operational excellence, people leadership, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing PMO leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings structure and accountability to cross-functional initiatives, and continuously seeks innovative ways to improve how teams work. This individual will drive strategic programs from concept through execution while developing and empowering a high-performing team to deliver impactful business outcomes.

A growth mindset, curiosity, and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and automation tools are essential. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, enhance productivity, and increase overall marketing effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, governance, execution, and delivery of complex marketing programs and strategic initiatives across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Establish and maintain PMO best practices, project management standards, processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Manage program timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Partner closely with marketing, creative, digital, analytics, product, and business teams to align priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience leading complex marketing programs, project management offices (PMOs), or large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing project management professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing multiple programs simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and program execution best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional business partners.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and execution excellence.
  • Must be located in North Carolina.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
  • Experience within enterprise marketing, brand, digital marketing, creative operations, or agency environments.
  • Demonstrated success implementing AI, automation, or workflow optimization solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Experience driving change management and large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to inform decisions and measure program success.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology platforms, project management tools, and collaboration solutions.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels and lead through ambiguity.
  • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and exploring emerging technologies to enhance team and business performance.
