American Electric Power (AEP) invites you to join our Project Management Internship program in the United States. As a Project Management Intern, you will assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement, gaining exposure to project controls, procurement, and business

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in Project Management or related field.
• Must have completed at least your freshman year.
• Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers with planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities.
• Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and status reports.
• Participate in project team meetings and document action items and key decisions.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues.
• Prepare presentations, dashboards, reports, and other project documentation.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing project data to support informed business decisions.
• Support communication among project team members, business partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Gain exposure to project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Assist with procurement, contract, scheduling, or project controls activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Learn and promote AEP's commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through project assignments and mentorship opportunities.
