Title: Project Lead - Energy Delivery Electrical Engineer / PSS/E Required

Our energy consulting client is expanding across the US and seeks a project lead to work remotely. Must have an Engineering Degree and PSS/E experience (TARA is a bonus).
Critical Skills/Technologies:
- Keen understanding of electrical engineering
- No utility background necessary
- Experience in Stability Modeling - Dynamics is essential
- Familiarity with NERC planning standards, even if limited
- Experience with RTO/ISO planning, specifically MISO, SPP, ERCOT
- PSS/E experience is mandatory; TARA experience is a plus. PSLF or other software knowledge is beneficial
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, verify, and adjust planning power system models (power-flow, short-circuit, dynamic) considering transmission topology and electrical characteristics.
- Utilize vendor and client data for model development.
- Conduct transmission system studies using industry-standard tools (PSS/E, PSLF) to evaluate system performance and compliance with NERC standards, including generator interconnection and impact studies.
- Review and ensure compliance with NERC and regional standards related to transmission planning.
- Handle planning tasks for transmission interconnection, load, and facility projects.
- Perform power flow modeling, asset registration, and facilities performance reviews.
- Represent the company at RTO/ISO stakeholder meetings.
- Serve as the lead expert on Transmission Planning and NERC standards related to transmission modeling and facilities.
- Coordinate project tasks, prepare reports and presentations, and deliver accurate project outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members, exercising independent judgment where appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BSc in Electrical or Power Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
- At least 4 years of relevant transmission planning or modeling experience.
- Experience with power system modeling software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSS/MUST, TARA.
- Knowledge of bulk power system transmission planning.
- Familiarity with distribution and transmission facility design, planning, or operation.
- Understanding of RTO/non-RTO interconnection and planning requirements.
- Knowledge of NERC reliability standards for planning, rating, and modeling.
- Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams and equipment specifications.
- Competence in conducting and analyzing steady-state and transient studies independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.
