GDS Associates, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead in the Transmission Services - Energy Delivery Department. This fully remote position is based out of the Marietta (Atlanta), GA office. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, along with opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and verify power system models (power-flow, short-circuit, dynamic) considering transmission topology and electrical characteristics.
2. Interpret vendor and client data for model development.
3. Perform transmission system studies using industry software (PSS/E, PSLF) to assess performance and compliance with NERC standards.
4. Evaluate compliance with NERC and regional standards.
5. Complete planning tasks related to transmission interconnection and asset registration.
6. Provide representation at RTO/ISO stakeholder workgroups.
7. Serve as lead expert on Transmission Planning and NERC standards.
8. Manage project subtasks, communicate with clients through reports and presentations.
9. Deliver accurate project outcomes, collaborate with team members, and support other departments with expertise.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
2. At least 4 years of relevant experience in transmission planning or modeling.
3. Experience with power system software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld.
4. Knowledge of bulk power system planning, RTO/non-RTO requirements, and NERC standards.
5. Ability to interpret electrical one-lines and perform power-flow and short-circuit studies.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
8. Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.
