Job summary

Zeliant Group of Companies is seeking a seasoned Project Head / Senior Project Manager (Civil) to lead large-scale industrial civil construction projects in the United States. You will drive site execution, manage sub-contractors and materials, and ensure strict safety and quality while safeguarding commercial interests.

The role requires 10–15 years of industrial plant construction leadership, expertise in IS codes, BOQ/SLA structures, and strong client relationship management.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• 10–15 years of proven experience leading industrial plant construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end civil execution including heavy slab/structural casting and finishing works.
• Manage site resources, sub-contractor teams, material inventory and equipment to meet schedules.
• Lead techno-commercial activities: BOQ verifications, JMRs, and extra-claim reconciliations with client teams.
• Handle cash flow, billing and liquidity, including RA bills and final accounts with emphasis on client milestones.

Job description

We are seeking a seasoned, high-caliber Project Head / Senior Project Manager (Civil) to lead and navigate large-scale, complex industrial civil construction projects (industrial plants, pharmaceutical facilities, heavy infrastructure). The ideal candidate must possess exceptional site execution capabilities combined with sharp commercial acumen, contract administration experience, and strong client-handling skills to manage tight project cash flows, billing disputes, and aggressive client timelines.

Role & responsibilities

1. High-Stakes Project Execution & Site Governance

• Oversee end-to-end civil execution, heavy slab/structural casting, Tremix/industrial flooring, brickwork, plastering, and specialized finishing works.
• Manage site resource allocation, sub-contractor teams, material inventory, and heavy machinery deployment to match aggressive client schedules.
• Drive daily/weekly progress targets as per client MoMs, ensuring quality control, SFD protocols, and strict site safety compliance.

2. Techno-Commercial & Contract Management

• Lead technical discussions, BOQ line-item verifications, joint measurement records (JMRs), and extra-claim reconciliation with client technical and procurement teams.
• Protect company commercial interests by identifying scope changes, non-BOQ items, and pre-bid alignment clauses.
• Coordinate with external consultants and Chartered Engineers to substantiate billing representations and technical claims.

3. Cash Flow, Billing & Liquidity Management

• Ensure timely submission, tracking, and certification of Running Account (RA) Bills and final accounts.
• Navigate client billing deadlocks, audit objections, retention releases, and tax/E-Invoice compliance without compromising site execution momentum.
• Manage vendor, sub-contractor, and material supplier payouts on weekly/fortnightly cycles aligned with project cash inflows.

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary escalation point for client leadership, project heads, procurement heads, and technical advisors.
• Represent BPC in high-level techno-commercial meetings, maintaining firm professional boundaries while safeguarding long-term client relationships.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience: 1015 years of proven track record in leading industrial plant construction projects (Experience in Pharma / FMCG / Chemical plant construction preferred).

• Key Skills:
• Deep expertise in IS codes, standard civil engineering measurement practices, and BOQ/SLA contract structures.
• Strong negotiation and crisis-management skills under high-pressure project environments.
• Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD, and billing management software.
• Fluent in professional written and spoken English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
