Job summary

Snohomish County is seeking a qualified professional to plan, develop and implement a variety of environmental and regulatory projects. The role involves leading projects, coordinating with technical staff, and ensuring compliance with laws and grant requirements.

The position also handles procurement, grant proposals, stakeholder engagement and presentations, with opportunities to support multiple program areas through planning and reporting efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences/studies, natural resource management, public administration, or related field
• One year experience in work specific to job requirements; master's may substitute for one year
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience
• Must pass job-related tests
• Knowledge of program and project management principles and practices
• Ability to gather, evaluate and document technical data
• Read, interpret and apply federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing duties

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and implements projects; identifies information required, collects data and prepares analysis and proposals.
• Assumes lead role for one large project or multiple small projects; coordinates with technical staff and directs others; ensures compliance with laws and grant requirements.
• Prepares bids, proposals and contracts; monitors contractors and consultants; approves work and billings; prepares status reports.
• Prepares grant proposals and monitors grant award contracts; coordinates grant-funded subcontractors.
• Represents staff on groups, solicits support for programs, coordinates group policies and reports; arranges presentations and minutes.
• Gives presentations to Snohomish County groups; attends meetings and prepares materials and reports.
• Supports environmental, infrastructure, or regulatory programs including planning, reporting, strategy and stakeholder coordination.

Education

Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences/studies or related field

Master's degree may substitute for one year experience
