Job summary

TMG Construction seeks a Scope of Construction Engineer I to support project management and field operations across multiple projects in the Falls Church, VA area. You will assist with estimating, scheduling, document control, RFI workflow, and submittals while coordinating with management, subcontractors, and client teams.

The role requires a basic to good understanding of civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines, plus proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management or 3 years of related experience.
• Basic to good understanding of civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines.
• Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, and reporting software.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk job sites.
• Professional credentials – EIT or AC in good standing.
• OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR credentials.
• CQC certification issued by USACE / NAVFAC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project management across all phases of a project life cycle.
• Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking status, changes, RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Process shop drawings with SMEs and formal submittals.
• Support change management by updating logs, obtaining pricing, and writing change orders.
• Assist estimating with quantity surveys using digitizers, 3D modeling, and documentation.
• Develop and monitor project schedules using scheduling software.
• Coordinate CAD-based layouts and dimensioning to ensure fit of all elements.
• Assist with contract and purchase order negotiations.
• Prepare reports using Project Center, USACE QCS/RMS, and Prolog.
• Identify issues early and facilitate solutions.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal requirements.
• Engage with accounting, HR, ICS, and other support groups.
• Participate in project closeout activities and value engineering reviews.
