ON.energy is seeking a Project Finance Specialist/Chief of Staff to the CIO to oversee capital formation and deployment for the company’s AI UPS platform, working directly with the CIO.

You will manage deal execution (about 70%) and run the CIO’s office (roughly 30%), preparing board and investor materials and coordinating with Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Engineering.

This role places you at the center of multi-gigawatt financing decisions, with travel to sites and meetings across the US.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in infrastructure, energy, or data center financing.
• Hands-on execution of closed transactions: capital raises, project financings, or structured credit.
• Expert financial modeling: project finance, levered returns, debt sizing, and waterfalls.
• Working knowledge of energy tax credits (§48E, transferability, tax equity).
• Understanding of data center and digital infrastructure economics (colocation, powered shell, leases).
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication; ability to memo complex structures for a board.

Responsabilités

• Support the CIO across all capital raise activity: investor targeting, data rooms, models, diligence management.
• Structure and execute project-level financings for AI UPS assets in ERCOT and other U.S. markets.
• Finance AI UPS-as-a-Service: leases, energy-as-a-service, SPVs, asset-backed facilities.
• Monetize tax credits, including §48E ITC, transferability, and tax equity; work with Tax and advisors.
• Own financial models for project lenders, project returns, and as-a-service pricing; stress-test assumptions.
• Negotiate term sheets, credit agreements, and customer contracts with CIO, Legal, and outside counsel.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, infrastructure funds, private credit, tax credit buyers, and hyperscaler teams.
• Run CIO’s operating cadence: pipeline tracking and weekly deal reviews; prepare investor materials.
• Act as CIO’s proxy in cross-functional work with Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Engineering.
• Track capital markets and tax credit policy; translate trends into recommendations.
• Take on special projects, including strategic partnerships and M&A.
