Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Project Finance Specialist/Chief of Staff to the CIO in Miami. You will lead capital formation initiatives, run complex project financings, and shape the financing strategy for AI UPS assets across U.S. markets.

You will work directly with the CIO to structure transactions, prepare investor materials, and manage diligence with Legal, Tax, and Engineering teams. Travel is involved; remote options may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in infrastructure, energy, or data center financing across PE, IB, infra VC, project finance, or digital infra operators.
• Hands-on execution of closed transactions: capital raises, project financings, or structured credit; built models and negotiated.
• Expert financial modeling: project finance, levered returns, debt sizing, and waterfall structures.
• Knowledge of energy tax credits (§48E, §6418 transferability, tax equity) and how they shape capital structure.
• Understanding of data center and digital infra economics: colocation, powered shell, leases.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication; able to distill complex structures into a one-page board memo.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the CIO across all capital raise activity: investor targeting, data rooms, models, materials, diligence management.
• Structure and execute project-level financings for AI UPS assets in ERCOT and other U.S. markets.
• Design and finance AI UPS-as-a-Service: leases, energy-as-a-service, SPVs, asset-backed facilities.
• Monetize tax credits and work with Tax team and outside advisors.
• Own financial models for project lenders, project returns, and as-a-service pricing; stress-test capital costs and counterparty risk.
• Negotiate term sheets, credit agreements, and customer contracts with CIO, Legal, and outside counsel.
• Build relationships with banks, infra funds, private credit, tax credit buyers, and hyperscalers.
