Job summary

Shive-Hattery in the United States is seeking a Project Accountant with 3+ years of experience to become a financial partner for our project teams from concept through completion. You will work with project managers, architects, and engineers to clarify project financials, prepare accurate monthly invoices, and ensure compliance with contracts and MSAs.

This hybrid role offers collaboration across our design offices and opportunities to influence project outcomes while developing your expertise

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Familiar with accounting principles and practices and have experience working with financial systems and tools.
• Comfortable working in a team environment, collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as financial partner to project leaders, guiding financial decisions.
• Manage project contracts, MSAs, and billing requirements across portfolios.
• Prepare monthly client invoices with documentation for review.
• Identify unbilled items and optimize cash flow.
• Monitor accounts receivable and support timely client payments.
• Maintain financial records and close project phases as needed.
• Assist with project closeout and WIP reconciliation.
