Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Project Analyst to support the financial and operational performance of our project teams in Connecticut. You will partner with Division Managers, Group Managers, Project Managers, Accounting, and others to ensure projects are set up accurately, financially monitored, and managed per contractual and company requirements.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience as a Project Analyst.
• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience in project accounting, project administration, finance, or related business operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and recognize issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships across teams.
• Strong organization and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and taking on increased responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to establish new projects, prepare Project Information Forms (PIFs), and ensure setup aligns with contracts, budgets, billing, and revenue recognition.
• Monitor project financial performance including revenue, billing, accounts receivable, WIP, projections, and budgets; identify issues and act with project leadership.
• Review monthly project and financial reports, analyze data and trends, provide clear insights into performance.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Accounting, and clients to resolve billing and project accounting issues and maintain accurate information.
• Support annual budgets, ongoing forecasting, and financial information for proposals and contracts.
• Review and support processing of purchase requests, invoices, expense reports, timesheets, and other project financial documents.
• Maintain complete project records including contracts, scopes of work, budgets, quality docs, and other materials.
• Serve as a project accounting resource with guidance, training, and support on tools and processes.
• Collaborate across Operations, Accounting, and other departments to support efficient project administration.
