Job summary

Confidential Mechanical Contracting Firm is seeking an experienced Project Executive - Plumbing in Seattle to lead client relationships, guide plumbing project sales, and coordinate field labor across complex commercial projects.

The role drives project outcomes through strong management of budgets, contracts, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, and Construction teams. Travel is required 5–45% to support regional growth.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in estimating, designing, and/or managing HVAC and/or Commercial Plumbing projects ($50k–$100M).
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Proven ability to work independently to achieve goals.
  • Experience cultivating client relationships and driving new business development.
  • Ability to navigate high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Active strategic presence within industry/community organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience with business systems software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet).
  • Willingness to travel 5–45% of the time to other offices and job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact between the business and customer across the project lifecycle.
  • Perform core project management: concept engineering, estimates, and proposals.
  • Manage contracts across lifecycle: sales, estimating, procurement, execution.
  • Coordinate field labor and installation sequencing between customer and field leadership.
  • Forecast, budget projections, track job costs, and control expenses.
  • Handle invoicing, proposals, contracts, change orders, and legal protections.
  • Lead client meetings and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and partners.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental efforts: Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, Service.
  • Schedule pre-construction meetings and engage department heads in project discussions.
  • Mentor and coach sales staff; participate in recruiting and technical studies.
  • Develop and maintain client base; drive new business development.

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Project Executive - Plumbing to serve as a senior-level leader responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing plumbing project sales, and directing field labor coordination. This role is pivotal to the organization's success, acting as the primary point of contact between the business and its clients while ensuring projects are executed with the highest standards of quality and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the single source of responsibility and main point of contact between the business and the customer throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Perform all core project management functions to finalize sales, including concept engineering, complete estimates, and written proposals.
  • Successfully manage contracts across their entire lifecycle, covering sales, estimating, procurement, and execution.
  • Oversee field labor and coordinate installation sequencing between the customer and field leadership.
  • Manage financial health by forecasting, preparing budget projections, tracking job costs, and controlling expenses within established limits.
  • Handle all essential documentation, including billing, proposals, contracts, change orders, and legal protections.
  • Lead external client meetings and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
  • Supervise and coordinate internal efforts across departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service.
  • Facilitate effective communication by scheduling pre-construction meetings, consulting with department heads, and attending all project meetings.
  • Mentor, train, and coach sales staff to support growth, while participating in recruiting and special technical studies.
  • Develop and maintain a client base while actively driving new business development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in estimating, designing, and/or managing HVAC and/or Commercial Plumbing projects ranging from $50,000 to $100+ million.
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Proven ability to work independently to execute and achieve organizational goals established by leadership.
  • Demonstrated high integrity, transparency, and accountability.
  • Experience in cultivating client relationships and driving new business development.
  • Ability to successfully navigate high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Active strategic presence within key industry-based or community-based organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
