Job summary

MPI seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager in Southern California to oversee projects from start to finish, directing teams of 15-20 and coordinating with superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in PM, deep knowledge of trades, strong communication, and a proven track record in business development. Competitive base salary up to $245k plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in Construction Project Management or as a project executive.
  • Experience leading teams of 15-20 people preferably.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, masonry, concrete, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Experience with multiple fields of construction.
  • Proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specs and drawings.
  • Bring business development opportunities to the team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and good time management.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and directing projects from start to finish.
  • Directs and supervises project administration staff and construction engineers, coordinating with project superintendents to set priorities.
  • Forecast and report project costs and revenue, ensuring adherence to estimates.
  • Resolve issues related to labor, staffing, materials, equipment, and contracts/subcontracts.
  • Assist with pre-qualification for bidders, develop RFPs/RFQs, and aid owner in selecting project delivery method.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Manager to meet safety goals.
  • Build strong relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant PMs.
  • Maintain documentation such as RFIs and change orders.

Description
  • Overseeing and directing projects from start to finish
  • Directs and supervises work of project administration staff and construction engineers, as well as works in partnership with project superintendents to establish operational priorities
  • Responsible for forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates
  • Responsible for problem resolution involving labor disputes, staffing, construction materials, construction equipment and contracts/subcontracts administration
  • Assist with pre-qualification process for bidders, develop and solicit responses to RFP's/RFQ's, assist the owner in selecting the appropriate project delivery method
  • Coordinates with construction Safety Manager to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with established safety goals
  • Develop strong relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant Project Managers
  • Maintain appropriate documentation through project such as RFI logs and change orders
Profile
  • 10+ years of experience in Construction Project Management or recent experience as a project executive
  • Experience leading teams of 15-20 people preferrably
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical
  • Have experience in multiple fields of construction
  • Working knowledge of construction technology and details
  • Candidate must be extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings
