Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Worthington, Ohio is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate multiple building automation projects in hospitals, universities and industrial facilities. You will oversee scope, schedule, safety and client satisfaction.

The role requires PM experience in HVAC controls, ability to read MEP drawings, strong communication, and US work authorization. Hybrid work arrangement with responsibilities across our central Ohio operations.

Qualifications

  • On-the-job experience with project management in HVAC controls or similar.
  • Ability to read and understand MEP drawings and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams; exposure to Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED; must be 21+ with a valid driver's license; eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project specifications and drawings to establish schedules with the team.
  • Own fiscal and managerial oversight for assigned projects; drive financial performance and execution.
  • Ensure safety requirements are defined, communicated, and upheld; comply with Siemens standards and site safety plans.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and gain acceptance of engineered submittals (shop drawings, data sheets, system docs).
  • Oversee procurement of supplies and materials; participate in project cost reviews.
  • Contract subcontractors and coordinate activities to align with scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct orientations for project technicians with scope of work and diagrams.
  • Track resources and progress; identify change orders.
  • Manage billing coordination with accounting; schedule commissioning; ensure close-out docs.

Project Managers coordinate and deliver multiple, simultaneous building automation projects of various complexities, which contributes to creating safer environments in critical institutions such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. As a Project Manager, y our fiscal and managerial oversight across all project facets ensures client satisfaction, effective resource allocation, and safe, timely completion of projects.

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and related documents to understand project intentions, establishing comprehensive project schedules in coordination with the team while identifying crucial installation timelines
  • Own fiscal and managerial oversight for assigned projects, driving financial performance, operational execution, and overall project success
  • Ensure all project safety requirements are defined, communicated, and upheld throughout execution, including compliance with Siemens standards, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety plans
  • Accountable for the preparation, coordination, and gaining acceptance of all engineered submittals (e.g., shop drawings, data sheets, and system documentation), ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, technical standards, and project specifications, while managing review cycles and integrating approved designs into project execution.
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and materials required for project completion, and actively participate in project cost reviews to ensure financial efficiency
  • Responsible for contracting subcontractors, coordinating their activities to align with the project scope, schedules, and fiscal requirements while ensuring adherence to safety regulations
  • Conduct orientations for project technicians, providing all necessary project documentation such as scope of work, technical drawings, project contacts, and application-engineered diagrams
  • Diligently track project resources and progress, documenting any events impacting the schedule, scope, and overall efficiency; identify and pursue opportunities for project-specific change orders
  • Manage project-specific billing coordination with the accounting team and Operations Manager, schedule commissioning resources, expedite the return of mark-ups for as-built development, and ensure timely completion of project-specific close-out documentation

Basic Qualifications:

On-the-job experience with:

  • Project management in the HVAC controls industry OR similar experience
  • HVAC industry applications; Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications, and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams; prior exposure to industry-standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and BACnet OR Successful completion of Siemens Project Management SkillBridge Internship
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred
  • 5+ years project management experience in the HVAC controls industry
  • Microsoft Project experience

The pay range for this position is $68,830 - $117,994 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
