Job summary

AEC Consulting Group is seeking a Project Executive for a major data-center construction in Atlanta. You will lead the project from preconstruction through turnover, owning the client relationship and guiding a high-performance team to disciplined execution across cost, schedule, safety, and quality.

The role requires senior client-facing leadership with a proven track record on ground-up data-center programs, onsite work in Atlanta, and strong control of cost forecasting and risk management.

Qualifications

Project Executive, Data Center Construction

Atlanta, Georgia | Full-Time

AEC Consulting Group is conducting a confidential search for a Project Executive on behalf of a well-established commercial general contractor. This is an opportunity to serve as the senior construction leader for a major, highly complex data-center build in the Atlanta market.

The Project Executive will lead the project from preconstruction through commissioning, turnover, and closeout. This leader will own the client relationship, guide a high-performing project team, and ensure disciplined execution across cost, schedule, safety, quality, risk, trade-partner coordination, and commercial performance.

What You Will Lead

• Lead onsite delivery of a large, schedule-sensitive, MEP-intensive data-center construction project from preconstruction through turnover.
• Lead and develop the project team, including project managers, superintendents, engineers, VDC/BIM, and support personnel.
• Serve as the senior client contact and lead coordination with the owner, design team, consultants, utilities, and key trade partners.
• Own commercial performance, including buyout, forecasting, GMP administration, change management, profitability, and risk.
• Drive critical-path schedule execution, long-lead procurement, recovery planning, logistics, phasing, and field production.
• Ensure integrated electrical, mechanical, controls, commissioning, safety, quality, and closeout execution.

What We Are Looking For

• Required: Prior ground-up data-center construction-management experience with a general contractor, serving as a Project Executive or Senior Project Manager.
• Demonstrated leadership of large, complex data-center projects from preconstruction through commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Proven ownership of project cost forecasting, buyout, contracts, change orders, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, safety, and risk.
• Senior client-facing experience and a record of leading project and field teams, including project managers, superintendents, engineers, and support personnel.
• Strong practical knowledge of MEP coordination, including major electrical, mechanical, controls, utility, and commissioning interfaces.
• Experience on major data-center programs or projects valued in the hundreds of millions is preferred; candidates must be able to work onsite in Atlanta.
