Job description

Project Executive – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction
About the Company

A rapidly growing construction and project delivery organization specializing in mission-critical and data center environments. The company partners with sophisticated clients to deliver complex, high-value capital projects where schedule certainty, technical execution, safety, and quality are paramount. With a collaborative, hands-on culture and a growing portfolio of mission-critical work, the organization offers experienced construction leaders the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on both projects and client relationships.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Project Executive to take ownership of large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects from planning through final delivery.

This is a highly visible leadership position for someone who understands how to bring together clients, design teams, trade partners, vendors, and internal project teams to successfully execute complex construction programs. You will have overall accountability for project performance, including schedule, budget, quality, contractual obligations, team leadership, and client satisfaction.

Beyond delivering individual projects, the Project Executive will be instrumental in strengthening long-term client relationships, developing high-performing teams, and supporting the continued growth of the company's mission-critical practice.

What You'll Do
  • Own the end-to-end execution and overall success of assigned data center and mission-critical construction projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with design requirements, budget, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Provide executive-level leadership to project teams, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Develop and oversee project and divisional work plans across construction projects and related facilities operations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and proactively addressing project needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Act as the company's representative with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other third-party partners.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditures, cost controls, and overall project profitability.
  • Identify project risks early and lead teams in developing effective mitigation and resolution strategies.
  • Review project activities, contracts, and deliverables for compliance and take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies.
  • Lead and participate in strategic planning, goal setting, and initiatives supporting the organization's continued growth.
  • Oversee the development of RFQs, RFPs, bids, contracts, proposals, and other critical project documentation.
  • Negotiate and administer agreements with clients, contractors, vendors, architects, engineers, operators, and outside agencies.
  • Provide executive leadership with clear reporting on project performance, financials, schedules, risks, and key decisions.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing construction teams capable of successfully executing complex mission-critical projects.
  • Drive a culture centered on safety, accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and exceptional client service.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or a related discipline; equivalent significant construction leadership experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years of construction management or engineering experience, with significant exposure to mission-critical, data center, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully delivering large, complex construction projects from preconstruction/planning through commissioning and turnover.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading large, cross-functional teams and/or directly managing construction professionals.
  • Proven ability to assemble, develop, and lead productive project teams within a large general contractor or similarly complex construction environment.
  • Strong command of construction methodologies, building codes, project controls, and industry best practices.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of construction, including experience with multiple Owner/Designer/Contractor agreement structures.
  • Ability to navigate complex project issues while understanding contractual obligations, risk allocation, and client expectations.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, trade partners, and senior leadership.
  • BIM awareness and a solid understanding of its application within complex construction projects.
Preferred Experience
  • MBA, Master's degree in Engineering, Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • PMP or comparable project management certification.
  • Advanced experience with construction management and project controls platforms such as Procore and Primavera P6.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for project financial management and PowerPoint for executive-level reporting.
  • Experience developing project cost proposals and negotiating commercial terms between contractors and clients.
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects or a broader mission-critical construction program.
Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership position within a growing mission-critical construction platform. Rather than simply managing a piece of a project, you'll have ownership of the complete delivery lifecycle and a direct voice in how projects, teams, and client partnerships are managed.

For a construction leader who has successfully delivered complex data center projects and is ready to operate at the executive level, this role offers the chance to lead major programs, build teams, deepen strategic client relationships, and help shape the continued growth of the business.
