Qualifications

• 10+ years of related industry experience.
• Hands-on management of projects exceeding $10m.
• Experience leading a team of at least three managers.
• OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to read project documents in English.
• Proficient with common business technology (laptops, tablets, smartphones; Microsoft Teams).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the project management team for Central Virginia Construction.

• Review cost-to-complete (CTC) with Project Managers and participate in monthly CTC meetings.
• Ensure consistency in project management practices.
• Assist in estimating bid reviews and sales presentations.
• Forecast, budget, and assist strategic planning with leadership.
• Communicate changes and company information to project teams.
• Maintain responsibility for cash flow (billings and collections) for all projects.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and talent management.
• Provide coaching, feedback and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Project Executive is oversight and management of the project management team for Central Virginia Construction. The Project Executive is also responsible for maintaining customer relationships and pursue future business opportunities. The Project Executive typically reports to the Construction Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices
• Act as the Senior Project Manager on select projects which includes providing direct supervision to Project Managers and Project Engineers
• Review cost-to-complete (CTC) with Project Managers and participate in monthly CTC meetings
• Ensure that there is consistency in all project management practices
• Assist in estimating bid reviews and sales presentations as needed
• Assist General Manager/Vice President in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning
• Participate in new Project Management assignments and share resources with other Project Management teams
• Communicate changes, updates, company information, etc. to Project Management teams
• Maintain responsibility for Cash Flow (Billings and Collections) for all projects assigned
• Assist with recruiting, hiring and onboarding of teammates
• Assist with talent management (i.e., performance evaluations, career development, suggesting wage increases)
• Provide timely coaching, feedback and disciplinary action up to and including termination
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

• Possess a minimum of 10 years related industry experience
• Possess experience of hands-on management of projects with a scope of work exceeding $10m
• Experience with leading a team of at least three managers
• Possess recent project management experience with related scope of work
• Possess OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
• Ability to read and understand project related documents in the English language
• Ability to use current technology (i.e., laptop computer, tablet smartphone, Microsoft Teams).
• Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
• Ability to demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
