Job description

We are seeking a highly driven and entrepreneurial Project Executive to lead the growth of the New York City office, with a focus on corporate interiors projects. This individual will play a critical role in establishing and expanding their NYC presence while serving as a hands-on leader across all phases of project delivery.

The ideal candidate is both operationally strong and relationship-driven, enjoys being deeply involved at the project level, and is motivated by the opportunity to quickly grow into a senior leadership role within the organization.

This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape a growing office, mentor teams, build client relationships, and directly influence the strategic direction of the business in one of the country’s most competitive construction markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the successful delivery of high-end corporate interiors projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Maintain active involvement in project strategy, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, risk management, and client communication.
  • Partner closely with project teams to ensure operational excellence, quality control, and client satisfaction.
  • Provide executive oversight while remaining hands-on and accessible throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Drive accountability across internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
Client & Business Development
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, architects, landlords, and industry partners throughout the NYC market.
  • Support business development efforts, including client pursuits, presentations, and strategic networking.
  • Help establish and grow the NYC office culture, operations, and market presence.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and field staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on accountability, communication, and execution.
  • Assist in recruiting and building the local team as the office continues to expand.
Strategic Growth
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on office growth initiatives, staffing strategy, operational improvements, and market expansion.
  • Contribute to long-term business planning and organizational leadership.
  • Position yourself to transition into a broader senior leadership role as the office and region grow.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management with a strong focus on corporate interiors projects.
  • Proven experience leading complex interior projects in the NYC market.
  • Strong understanding of preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, contracts, and project operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Leadership experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
