Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager in Los Angeles to lead detailed construction estimates for fire protection projects. The role requires strong budgeting, blueprints analysis, and collaboration with design and construction teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction estimation, proficient AutoCAD/Bluebeam skills, and knowledge of Fire Sprinkler System Design. This on-site position offers competitive pay and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years of construction estimation experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam and related estimation software.
• Extensive fire protection knowledge, especially Fire Sprinkler System Design.
• Strong budgeting and project estimation capabilities.
• Able to read blueprints and technical docs with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects (materials, labor, equipment, time).
• Analyze blueprints and specifications to estimate time, cost, and labor.
• Perform risk analyses and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Architects, Clients, Contractors and Subcontractors on estimates.
• Use AutoCAD and Bluebeam to prepare estimates.
• Design and estimate fire protection systems, focusing on Fire Sprinkler System Design.
• Evaluate whether to produce or purchase components for cost savings.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare reports on progress, trends, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements.
2. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Conducting risk analysis and providing strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
4. Collaborating with Engineers, Architects, Clients, Contractors, and Subcontractors on project cost estimates.
5. Utilizing specialized software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam) for the preparation of estimates.
6. Designing and estimating fire protection systems, specifically Fire Sprinkler System Design.
7. Reviewing material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
8. Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
9. Preparing reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and other relevant software.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in fire protection, specifically Fire Sprinkler System Design.
4. Strong skills in project estimation and budgeting.
5. Proven ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
6. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
10. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
