Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of environmental projects and clients. This includes performing and leading environmental site investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design of plans and specifications, observation, inspection, and report writing. Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies to ensure regulatory compliance. Prepare permit applications, risk assessments, proposals, reports, and regulatory correspondence. Design systems and environmental protection plans. Communicate complex engineering issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Services may include Phase I/II assessments, ecological surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos abatement, stormwater management, and site planning.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
  2. Monitor and improve project quality standards.
  3. Ensure consistent quality in project and proposal delivery.
  4. Operate as a fully competent environmental engineering professional.
  5. Perform various projects or segments independently.
  6. Plan, schedule, and coordinate project phases.
  7. Collaborate with senior project managers for larger projects.
  8. Develop new problem-solving approaches.
  9. Serve as team leader and mentor junior staff.
  10. Conduct complex scientific analyses.
  11. Attend client meetings as needed.
  12. Implement technical requirements and supervise field staff.
  13. Develop and review client proposals.
  14. Evaluate laboratory and field data, and compile reports.
  15. Work under supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
  16. Begin mentoring and certification process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 5-8 years of experience.
  3. Master's degree preferred.
  4. Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
  5. Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
