Job summary

Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager in Colorado to lead the most complex capital projects. You will plan, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives, coordinating with plant managers and leaders to meet scope, safety, and quality goals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 10 years of engineering and project management experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years engineering experience.
• Strong project management skills for large CPP projects (typically $40M+).
• Excellent leadership and ability to motivate high‑performance teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage change in projects.
• Experience supervising/leading project staff and contractors.
• Proficient with MS Office and project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Exposure to SAP systems.
• Willingness to travel 30–60%.

Responsibilities

• Execute investment projects with budgets of $40M to $150M with CPP process adherence.
• Develop, guide, review, and present feasibility studies and business cases.
• Guide less experienced engineers on processes.
• Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete.
• Drive optimal technical solutions to improve cost/performance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance throughout projects.
• Coordinate external engineering resources and consultants as needed.
• Coach and mentor project staff and drive continuous improvement.
