Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
• 5+ years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Proven project management experience with projects ranging from $1M to $20M+
• Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical engineering expertise
• Strong leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as MS Project
• Strong computer skills for analysis, reporting, and project tracking
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and bid processes
• Experience developing estimates, schedules, and project deliverables
• Proven ability to write, review, and negotiate technical specifications and contracts
• Ability to manage projects across North America
• Willingness to travel approximately 40–50%
• PMP certification (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Lead all technical and commercial aspects of large, complex capital projects
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, deliverables, execution, and reporting
• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed scope and functionality
• Oversee multiple projects concurrently and drive them to successful completion
• Develop project scopes, specifications, schedules, and investment-grade cost estimates
• Perform mechanical and/or electrical detail engineering
• Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, functionality, and cost targets
• Design safe processes and equipment focusing on ergonomics and hazard elimination
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to design and execution
• Develop technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services
• Prepare bid packages, evaluate supplier proposals, and select vendors
• Manage suppliers, contractors, and external firms on-site and remotely
• Collaborate with plant leadership and cross-functional teams
• Provide regular updates to the project steering team with options, risks and recommendations
• Maintain clear communication regarding status, issues and changes
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, contracts and standards
• Support continuous improvement in automation and packaging
• Deliver training to maintenance and operations on new systems
• Support process and production teams to resolve issues
