Job summary

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. is seeking a full-time Project Engineer in our Transportation unit with 5+ years of experience. You will assist and lead project teams, develop engineering solutions, and deliver a thorough end product for municipal, county, and state clients.

The role requires strong communication, ability to manage schedules, and proficiency in Civil 3D or MicroStation; a PE is preferred. A valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
• Experience with Missouri DOT and local municipalities preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; MicroStation/OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigned high-responsibility tasks on project teams.
• Resolve engineering problems with help from senior staff.
• Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports.

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Project Engineer in our Transportation business unit. The position requires 5+ years of experience. This position is responsible for assisting & leading project teams, developing engineering solutions, and delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Assigned specific, high-responsibility-level tasks on project teams
• Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned, with help as needed from more experienced staff
• Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports
• Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal, county, and state agencies
• Assist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studies
• Develop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
• Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff to meet project needs
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working with the Missouri Department of Transportation and local municipalities (preferred)
• Use of Microsoft Office Products (e. g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficient in the use of MicroStation with OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak or AutoCAD with Civil 3D
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must complete a background check

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
