SteelFab, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer for an office-based, full-time role in Norcross, GA. You will support Pre-Construction with tasks including analyzing subcontractor bids, performing material and labor take-offs, and preparing pricing for change orders.

You will engage with estimating, coordinate drawings, and gain exposure to fabrication processes. The position emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship, and clear advancement paths within SteelFab as part of a third-generation

Qualifications

  • Major: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
  • Required: Microsoft Office experience, common computer skills. Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.
  • Scope Analysis: Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Utilize company software to perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
  • Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.
  • Follow up on submitted bids and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Prepare and issue pricing for change order requests.
  • Analyze design drawing revisions to identify and address scope changes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Assist in coordinating construction drawings, modeling, and submittal reviews.
  • Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.

Role

As a Project Engineer at SteelFab, you’ll dive right into the fast-paced world of construction. In this full-time role, you’ll work with our Pre-Construction and team on a variety of projects. You’ll get hands-on experience and make an impact by taking on tasks like:

  • This is an office-based position. Primary job duties will not be on project sites or manufacturing environments.
