We are seeking a Project Engineer, Thermal Engineering to support the development, delivery and improvement of thermal systems and equipment across complex engineering projects. The role will involve taking responsibility for thermal engineering activities from concept and design through analysis, testing, commissioning and operational support. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing and project management functions, to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions that meet technical, regulatory and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities will include developing thermal management concepts, performing heat transfer and thermodynamic calculations, preparing technical specifications, reviewing designs and supporting equipment selection. You will coordinate engineering work packages, monitor technical progress, manage risks and contribute to project schedules and budgets. The successful candidate will also prepare and review engineering documentation, interpret test data, investigate performance issues and recommend practical improvements. You may be involved in supplier engagement, design reviews, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning activities and the resolution of technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in thermal engineering, mechanical engineering, energy engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in thermal systems, heat exchangers, cooling systems, HVAC, energy infrastructure, process equipment or a comparable field. Experience with thermal modelling, computational analysis or engineering calculation tools is desirable, as is familiarity with applicable industry standards, safety requirements and quality processes. You should be able to communicate technical information clearly, produce accurate engineering documentation and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. A structured, analytical approach, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. The role may involve occasional travel to suppliers, project sites or test facilities.
