Lockheed Martin in the San Diego area is seeking an Operations Program Manager to support RMS production operations at the La Mesa, MX factory. You will own cost, schedule, and quality for assigned programs and lead IPTs to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires proven project management experience, knowledge of manufacturing processes, EVMS practices, and strong collaboration across engineering, sourcing, and quality teams.

THE WORK

Project Manager supporting RMS production operations. This role will support programs that operate out of our LaMesa,MX factory.

This role will include CAM responsibility and total ownership of quality, cost, and schedule performance for their assigned programs, which includes both labor and material responsibilities.

Specific Tasks Will Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Setting up manufacturing budgets (both labor and material) and executing earned‑value requirements for both
• Leading proposals, including authoring basis‑of‑estimates (BOEs)
• Leading new program launches and guiding the team through end‑item material delivery
• Leading the IPT to ensure quality, on‑budget, and on‑time delivery
• Analyzing and updating program schedules
• Leading the IPT to develop production‑startup requirements
• Executing existing production lines
• Identifying and coordinating implementation of internal process improvements
• Supporting and participating in programmatic and technical reviews, briefings, and meetings

Who We Are

Our Operations Program Management team—about30 professionals—serves as Control Account Managers (CAMs), overseeing material budgets and labor scopes. We are the primary liaison between Program Management, Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality and other functions for production and capture programs. By providing seamless support throughout the production lifecycle, we ensure timely delivery of contracted projects. The team keeps factories on schedule, drives momentum, and balances quick wins with long‑term objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Prior Project Management experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) practices, principles, compliance regulations
• Highly proficient in MS Office suite of tools to include performance metric creation
• Ability to develop, coordinate, lead, and execute daily priorities
• Experience coordinating tasks and actions with multiple functions

Desired Skills

• Motivational skills along with the ability to energize teams
• Experience with SAP/COS, or equivalent Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
• CAM certification and/or experience
• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
