Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Michigan City, IN is seeking a Project Engineer to manage schedules, coordinate resources, drive NPI, and support continuous improvement while ensuring technical excellence and customer satisfaction. You will lead multiple engineering projects from kickoff through final implementation, drive NPI and product development, monitor scope and costs, and perform CAD design in SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading engineering projects with scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development projects.
• Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple customer and internal engineering projects from kickoff through final implementation.
• Drive NPI and product development initiatives through stage-gate processes.
• Monitor project scope, schedule, costs, and risks for successful execution.
• Perform CAD design work and prepare drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support manufacturing by resolving design, quality, and production issues.
• Assist Purchasing with sourcing, procurement, and shortages.
• Participate in FAT, customer witness testing, and performance validation.
• Analyze test data and implement corrective actions.
• Foster a collaborative team environment focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
