Job summary

Amcor is seeking an engineer to develop, direct and coordinate projects for Amcor Flexibles North America involving mechanical and electrical components. You will lead safety initiatives, define project scope with customers, prepare engineering packages, and manage purchasing, costs and scheduling to keep projects on track.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, familiarity with lean manufacturing, strong analytical and communication skills, and occasional travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 1-6 years of experience.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing verbiage, process, tools, etc.
• Understanding of business processes and process improvement.
• Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Travel approximately up to 10% of the time to support plants.
• Ability to support onsite 24 hours on call schedule during project go lives.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a safety leader by complying with safety rules and training.
• Determines customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns.
• Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation.
• Provides purchasing services for project materials and negotiates with vendors.
• Coordinates project costs, scheduling and communication for varying scopes.
• Determines materials required and expedites delivery when necessary.
• Interfaces with departments to ensure equipment is safe, on schedule and to spec.
• Coordinates or assists with installation, checkout, start-up and training.
• Provides engineering support and troubleshooting for plant issues.
• Participates in Continuous Improvement projects and leads teams.
