Job summary

Legence is seeking a Project Engineer to support the San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, and Los Angeles Counties. You will assist the Project Manager and field operations across all phases of Plumbing and HVAC projects, manage day‑to‑day project administration, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation, and collaborate with BIM and design teams for on‑time delivery.

The role requires a technical background in mechanical construction, 1–3 years of experience, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittal reviews, project logs, change orders, and material procurement workflows.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with Field Supervisors, BIM teams, general contractors, and design engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs from creation to resolution with PM coordination.
• Review and distribute submittals and product data to general contractors and design teams.
• Maintain active project logs including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Distribute updated drawings and specifications to internal and external team members.
• Estimate and price change orders for Project Manager review.
• Assist the Project Manager with cost‑at‑completion forecasting, job cost projections, and financial tracking.
